Finally!
Hey guys! We are finally in our new place here in Oregon and we FINALLY have internet! I cannot tell you how miserable it was without it or TV! I must have played a thousand games of solitaire! I can't imagine what I would do with no internet. How did we ever get along without it before???! Anywho, this week we are finishing unpacking and I will post pics of the new place soon. It's nothing fancy, but a lot better than I thought. Oregon is really different from Florida. It's been rainy here the past couple of weeks so we haven't been able to venture out too much. They say the summer is really pretty and it doesn't rain as much. Come on summer!!! The town we live in, Brookings, is a really small town. Everyone knows everyone here. We must be the talk of the town, driving around with our Florida plates and all. When we go to their equivalent of Walmart, Fred Myer's, all of the cashiers are intrigued by us. They know we are new here which is really weird! They ask us things like, "Are you on vacation?", "Did you just move here?", etc. I feel like everyone is staring at me lol. Hopefully the newness will wear off soon and we will mesh with the locals. My favorite part of town is the Port. That's where Alex works and where the freaking cutest animals on planet are found! Well, aside from Pandas lol. SEALS!!!! They are soooo adorable and they make the cutest noises. If you haven't heard them, you should google seal noise. It's freaking adorable. Someone told me that you cannot touch them. He said they will bite me. I just cannot imagine them being mean. They are so sweet and cute. I guess I will stay my distance, though. No Andre for me. :( Also at the port are the Port Cats (a nickname given by me lol). They hang out by the dumpster waiting for people to feed them. They are really fat and almost as cute as the seals. I will take a picture of them one day for you guys to see! Aside from the animal life, Oregon has some pretty strange laws. You can't talk on your cellphone and drive and you can't pump your own gas. The cellphone thing I get, but pumping your own gas. That's weird. At least my hands won't smell like gas anymore when I fill up lol. On a side note, I am going to start to write to Target to tell them we need a Target here. The closest one is like 3-4 hours away. That is unacceptable. You guys should write them too. Well, I'll keep you guys updated on my Oregon adventures and the Target progress as well. :D
