Happy Summer!

So, I've decided that I am not a bad blogger.  There are just a lack of things to blog about lol.  Oregon is so boring.  We are doing good, though.  What they said was true...it doesn't rain as much in the summer.  I mean, it still rains.  Today is rainy, but it's not everyday anymore.  We are actually able to go outside and play!!!  I found a really cute park, KidTown, to take Zoey to.  It's a playground shaped like a castle.  Super cute!  She's still a little too young to fully take advantage of the awesomeness of KidTown, but she still has fun.  The swings are her favorite.  There's another park for younger children that we go to too.  She likes the swings there as well lol.  I've also been to the river a couple of times.  It's really beautiful.  The water is crystal clear, not dirty like The St. John's River.  I'll have to take pics for you guys to see (I forgot my camera last time).  Apparently, people camp out by the river.  I was entertaining the idea, but decided against it due to ya know the cougars and what not.  So, yeah...no camping, but hey, at least I experience nature for a few hours, right?!? ;)  Ohhhhh, and I also went to Medford, Oregon.  It's about 2 hours east of Brookings.  They have a mall and...wait for it...A TARGET!  The mall was nothing exciting.  They had a Macy's and some of the other chain stores.  It was pretty ghetto actually.  The Regency mall kicks its ass so that kind of gives you an idea of how much it sucked lol, but it was a mall so we can't complain.  Anyway, yeah...TARGET!  It was marvelous.  How I have missed perusing the aisles and checking out all the wares.  :D

Totally off subject, but Oregon has weird deer.  A couple months ago, Alex and I were driving down the road and he was like, "Hey, there's a deer in that yard."  I though it was weird and maybe the deer just wandered too far from the forest or something, but the next day we saw a family of deer and we've seen them everyday since.  They're usually just chillin and eating grass like it's no big deal.  Cars were going by and it didn't seem to bother them.  They're more mellow than Florida deer.  They must graze in Humboldt before coming here.  They are always eating lol.  I guess they come here for summer or something, but it still trips me out to see them.

Anyway, so here's the blog post for all of you who have asked me for one.  I will try to blog more.  I know I say that every time, but there really is a lack of inspiration here.  I don't want to just blog about Fred Myer's and rain lol.  I promise, though.  I will try to find things to inspire me...

P.S. - ZOEY AND I ARE COMING HOME IN A MONTH OR SO TO VISIT!  YAY US!

I'm so bad at blogging!!

Hey guys!  I think I am the world's worst blogger!  I always forget to do it.  I promise I will try to get better at this.

So, we're still just hanging out in good ole Oregon!  It's still yucky and rainy and we're still waiting on summer lol.  We've actually been having fun, though!  This past weekend we went to West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon, Oregon.  It's a pretty cool place.  It's a zoo, but with free roaming animals.  Goats, sheep, deer, peacocks and llamas roam free.  You can feed and pet them (except the peacocks), but beware!  The llamas spit!  Throughout the day they bring out animals for you to hold and pet.  Ferrets, opossums and baby leopard cubs are just a few of the animals that we got to interact with.  Zoey was not fond of the goats (they scared her), but really took a liking to the Capybaras and they seemed to like her too.  They are like huge Guinea Pigs.  Soooo cute!  After the zoo, we ate lunch at a yummy restaurant, Redfish, in Port Orford, Oregon.  It was really good!!

Today, we are just hanging out at home.  It's super yucky outside today and I've come down with a cold so we are just taking it easy for the next couple of days.  We miss everyone back in Florida and hope to visit soon!!!

happy tuesday!

Hey guys!  It's been a while since my last post.  I have some new info to share...turns out that the seals were not seals at all.  They are sea lions.  Sea lions are even cuter than seals.  The main difference between the two is sea lions have ears.  Anywho, St. Patty's day is this Saturday and we are having a party.  Alex's coworkers were surprised that we were throwing a party so soon.  I mean, what else is there to do here?!?!  The past week has been really yucky and rainy.  I think I'm beginning to become familiar to the Fred Myer's employees.  They don't ask me if I just moved here anymore.  Zoey will be here in two weeks!  I can't wait to see her or my parents.  It will be nice to see familiar faces for a change lol.  We found a cute park to take her too and I have another one to check out this weekend.   Well, hopefully I will be able to check it out on Sunday and not be out of commission from the party lol.  I'll post some pics of our new place tomorrow.  Oh and no target yet.  They are getting ready to open a Buy Lo (or something like that) soon.  Whatever that is.  I overheard this lady talking about it at a Mexican restaurant.  At first I thought she said Wal-Mart.  At this point I would even take a Wal-Mart lol.  Freddy's just doesn't cut it.  Do you have any idea how hard it was to find descent things for our St. Patty's day party??  It was really hard.  I have been spoiled with Target and all of there cute holiday wares. Oh well.  I was able to pull it together and I think it will turn out really cute.  I'll post pics of the party too!  Talk to you guys later!  xoxo

Finally!

Hey guys!  We are finally in our new place here in Oregon and we FINALLY have internet!  I cannot tell you how miserable it was without it or TV!  I must have played a thousand games of solitaire!  I can't imagine what I would do with no internet.  How did we ever get along without it before???!  Anywho, this week we are finishing unpacking and I will post pics of the new place soon.  It's nothing fancy, but a lot better than I thought.    Oregon is really different from Florida.  It's been rainy here the past couple of weeks so we haven't been able to venture out too much.  They say the summer is really pretty and it doesn't rain as much.  Come on summer!!!  The town we live in, Brookings, is a really small town.  Everyone knows everyone here.  We must be the talk of the town, driving around with our Florida plates and all.  When we go to their equivalent of Walmart, Fred Myer's, all of the cashiers are intrigued by us.  They know we are new here which is really weird!  They ask us things like, "Are you on vacation?", "Did you just move here?", etc.  I feel like everyone is staring at me lol.  Hopefully the newness will wear off soon and we will mesh with the locals.  My favorite part of town is the Port.  That's where Alex works and where the freaking cutest animals on planet are found!  Well, aside from Pandas lol.  SEALS!!!!  They are soooo adorable and they make the cutest noises.  If you haven't heard them, you should google seal noise.  It's freaking adorable.  Someone told me that you cannot touch them.  He said they will bite me.  I just cannot imagine them being mean.  They are so sweet and cute.  I guess I will stay my distance, though.  No Andre for me. :(  Also at the port are the Port Cats (a nickname given by me lol).  They hang out by the dumpster waiting for people to feed them.  They are really fat and almost as cute as the seals.  I will take a picture of them one day for you guys to see!  Aside from the animal life, Oregon has some pretty strange laws.  You can't talk on your cellphone and drive and you can't pump your own gas.  The cellphone thing I get, but pumping your own gas.  That's weird.  At least my hands won't smell like gas anymore when I fill up lol.  On a side note, I am going to start to write to Target to tell them we need a Target here.  The closest one is like 3-4 hours away.  That is unacceptable.  You guys should write them too.  Well, I'll keep you guys updated on my Oregon adventures and the Target progress as well.  :D
